Mathilde Roussel
"I have a very international background having grown up in Japan, studied in Argentina, and worked in Singapore. After co-founding a logistics startup in France and spending three years at Europe's largest startup accelerator, I've helped over 40 startups reach their first million in ARR. Now at First Round, I'm thrilled to collaborate with the most promising early-stage startups in the ecosystem to help them find (and keep) their first customers."
I am constantly inspired by the boundless energy, passion, and resilience entrepreneurs pour into their ventures. Their everyday struggles, successes, and challenges have continually fueled my dedication to getting hands-on and deeply involved in supporting founders.
After completing her studies in France, Mathilde co-founded Reaturn, a logistics startup aimed at reducing waste from single-use food packaging, where she oversaw sales, marketing, and partnerships.
Following this, she spent three years at WILCO, Europe's largest startup accelerator, as a startup manager. There, she assisted founders at over 40 startups to reach their first million in ARR, offering guidance on various topics including business and marketing strategy, initial hires, and fundraising.
Her international background spans multiple continents - from growing up in Japan to studying in Argentina and working in Singapore. She brings this global perspective and cultural adaptability to her work supporting founders at First Round.
