As the Office and Events Manager in the San Francisco office, I’m excited to help create a welcoming environment for our First Round team and our extended community to come together and feel inspired to connect and do their best work. Whether it’s the art and science of crafting an energizing in-office environment or diving into the small details of an exceptional dinner party, I’m always looking for opportunities to treat the little things like the big things. I feel lucky to be on a team that is dedicated to supporting and empowering exceptional founders and companies as they tackle big problems.
Before joining First Round, I graduated from Franklin and Marshall College with a degree in History. I started my career as a fourth-grade science teacher at an elementary school in Buffalo, New York. I then transitioned to a role in school operations, where I managed everything from classroom lunch delivery and open houses to our state testing program.
While I loved my time in the classroom, I decided to escape the exceptionally chilly Buffalo winters and moved to San Francisco to work as a human resources and talent acquisition consultant. I worked alongside an experienced HR executive to advise dozens of startups on policies and processes and as a fractional recruiter to help them grow their teams.
In my free time, I enjoy visiting San Francisco’s many fantastic bakeries – my current favorite is Juniper on Polk Street (their choux and blueberry muffins are to die for). You can also find me reading almost any fiction book or working as a volunteer usher at the San Francisco Ballet and Opera.
