Across my career in the tech industry, I’ve headed up orgs at tech giants, scaled early-stage teams from 0-1, and led teams through a startup’s “messy middle.” I’ve served as a senior leader at generational companies like Google, Twitter and Stripe, and built venture-backed startups like Tellme Networks, Velant and Zaplet. I’ve also served as an engaged advisor, angel investor or board member across a wide slate of high-growth companies including DoorDash, Bill.com, SoFi, Amobee, Melio, Transcend, and many others.
As a Board Partner at First Round, I lean on that experience as an operator, advisor and investor to coach First Round companies, with a particular focus on go-to-market. Topics we cover run the gamut across GTM strategy, customer segmentation, product strategy, team building, and running a company at scale. The founders I work with are exceptionally bright, energetic folks with big aspirations, and helping to amplify their impact makes me feel energized as well.
In my most recent full-time operating role prior to First Round, I served as Stripe’s Head of Global Revenue and Growth, where I worked closely with both First Round partners Meka Asonye and Cristina Cordova. As part of Stripe’s executive leadership team, I led sales, account management, and other GTM functions worldwide, and helped to lead Stripe through a period of hypergrowth as the company scaled from 500 to 2000 employees.
Prior to Stripe, I spent 5 years at Twitter, serving as VP of Global Online Sales, helping to grow Twitter’s business from the earliest stage to over $2B in revenue. And before Twitter, I spent 5 years as Google’s VP of Global Online Media Sales, responsible for sales and operations for products like Google Display Network, YouTube, mobile, affiliate marketing and TV ads.
I hold an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Duke University, where I graduated summa cum laude. I’m honored to currently serve on the board of Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering, helping the administration chart the school’s strategy and future. And, of course, I’m also a zealous Blue Devils basketball fan.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my wife and 3 kids as we embark on outdoor adventures or just hang out at home in the Bay Area. You’ll also find me working out nearly every day and trying to keep up with my son in the gym. On the non-profit side, my interests gravitate toward education and democracy.
