I have always been eager to support entrepreneurs, as they are the masterminds behind innovations and solutions that change the world for the better. I was first exposed to the impact of entrepreneurship when I took a class at Georgetown that taught the core elements of social entrepreneurship. As part of the course, I interned for a DC-based nonprofit that provides entrepreneurial, leadership and management training to struggling business owners in third-world countries. Through my work with these entrepreneurs, I was truly blown away by their passion, incredible work ethic, and drive to bring their ideas to life, and the transformative impact that these ventures had on their respective communities. It inspired me to join Facebook’s Small Business team post-graduation, where I primarily handled partnerships for Boost Your Business events, which were small business training sessions teaching entrepreneurs how to utilize social media to grow their businesses. This role reiterated my belief that entrepreneurs are essential to strong and innovative economies, which inspired me to pursue a career that supports ventures from an early stage.
At First Round, I connect founders with top talent to help build and grow their teams. Hiring is such an important need for early-stage ventures and a key hire can drastically alter the trajectory of a young company, whether it’s a first sales hire, an early engineer, or a product designer. My role on the Talent team at First Round relies on deeply understanding the founding team’s needs and matching them with the rising stars to help take their vision to new heights.
