I am inspired by the founder community’s passion for tackling generational problems, especially with respect to gender equity and access to education through technology solutions. I spent time working on both of these challenges in the early stages of my investing career, and I’m energized by the opportunity to apply those lessons to the wide array of issues that today’s founders are addressing.
It’s that excitement that brings me to First Round as Meka Asonye’s Chief of Staff, where I work on identifying breakout ideas and supporting fledgling companies in reaching their full potential. I love the creative and agile nature of startups, so it is a privilege to spend my days hearing founders’ visions and giving them the resources to jumpstart their growth.
Prior to joining First Round, I was an investor at Providence Equity Partners, evaluating and supporting later-stage companies in education, software, and media. Before that, I worked in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, advising companies in tech, media, and communications on debt financing strategies. I am grateful to have seen and worked with many successful companies up close during my career.
I am from Troy, Michigan and a proud graduate of Duke University. Though I grew up in the Midwest, went to college in the South, and began my career on the East Coast, I’m excited to now call San Francisco home. Outside of work, you can find me running (an added challenge now that I’m contending with SF’s hilly streets), scoping out the local restaurants, planning my next trip, or catching up with a friend over a chai latte.
